A medication abortion is a safe and effective option to end a pregnancy up to 11 weeks.
The first pill of the medication abortion is taken when at our clinic. This pill will stop the pregnancy from continuing. The second pills that someone takes at home causes the uterus to contract (or cramp) and this causes the pregnancy to be passed out of the body. Many people report that using an abortion pill feels like having a miscarriage in terms of the amount of bleeding and cramping that occurs. A medication abortion allows someone to pass the pregnancy in the comfort of their own home.

During your visit with us, we will review in detail what to expect if you decide to have a medication abortion. We are also available to support you with questions or concerns during and after this process. We will provide you with a home pregnancy test that is done at 4 weeks following your procedure.

The gestational age of your pregnancy will be determined by the ultrasound done on the day of your visit. Note: Seeing a trained medical professional is the only way to accurately determine the length of your pregnancy and what options are available.
