Vasectomy

One birth control option available to men who want a highly effective, permanent method of preventing pregnancy is a vasectomy.

Vasectomies work by blocking the tubes that carry sperm from the testicles to the penis.  When the tubes are blocked, sperm cannot leave the body and cause pregnancy.

At Women’s Health, we provide no-scalpel vasectomies. A no-scalpel vasectomy is a safe procedure that takes about 15 minutes and has no known long-term health risks.

For more information about the no-scalpel procedure, see a list of Frequently Asked Questions.

Fees for a vasectomy are based on an individual’s ability to pay. In order to determine if you qualify for a no or low-cost vasectomy, please bring proof of income such as a tax return, recent paycheck stub, or a letter from your employer. Insurance is also accepted.
