Boulder Valley Women’s Health Center (BVWHC) offers comprehensive sexual and gender affirming health services in a non-judgmental, inclusive and culturally competent environment for individuals of all gender and sexual identities.

Our services include:

  • Culturally competent health care
We offer preventive health care visits, in conjunction with other medical specialists if needed. For example, we offer culturally competent ob-gyn services and other sexual and physical health screenings for all gender and sexual identities.
  • Counseling consultation for hormone therapies
Our counseling supervisor is available for an initial support consult with individuals who are seeking hormone therapy, to assess or confirm that the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) guided readiness requirements for proceeding with hormone therapy are in place. Our counselor can then provide the documentation required by our physician for hormone therapy.
  • Hormone therapy initiation and management
Our physician and advanced practice nurses supervise hormone therapy for adults following the WPATH Standards of Care. These guidelines include the eligibility and readiness requirements noted in the therapy referral letter provided by your own provider, or in a chart documentation of psychosocial assessment provided by our counseling supervisor. We do not offer  gender affirming hormone services for patients under age 18 at this time, but we can offer a referral for this service.
  • Referral information for gender confirmation surgeries
(also sometimes referred to as Sex Reassignment Surgeries (SRS), Gender Reassignment Surgeries (GRS), or gender affirmation surgeries)
