Advocacy volunteer

Job Title:  Advocacy Volunteer
Hours:  3-5 Hours per week, some special events
Pay rate:  Volunteer
Supervisor:  Volunteer Coordinator

Scope of Responsibility/Position Summary

  • Stay informed on developments in Congress, the state legislature, and around the country related to reproductive rights and policy;
  • Create and send out an Advocacy & Action report (by email) twice a month to keep our staff, board and supporters informed
  • Create a Get-Out-the-Vote display in waiting room during election season, with voter registration forms and information on any ballot initiatives that WH is opposing/supporting
  • Other Possibilities: attend Pro-Choice Lobby Day at the state capitol in the spring and possibly some Protect Families Protect Choice coalition meetings (schedule permitting).

Description of Responsibilities
Work in conjunction with Lisa Radelet, Communications/Public Policy Manager, to keep our staff,  Board of Directors, and supporters informed of pertinent news and legislative issues related to reproductive rights.

Qualifications

  • Must support reproductive justice
  • Background and/or interest in public policy and advocacy
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Must be 18 years or older
