Job Description
The Social Media volunteer collaborates with the Development, Marketing and Social Media teams to create cohesive social media messaging for Women’s Health. The Social Media Volunteer will train in all aspects of operations of the Center to inform their online presence on behalf of Women’s Health.
Position Summary
Identifies changing social media trends and creates related strategies for the agency
- Researches articles, studies and evaluation of social media technologies (Mobile Giving, Digg, Crowdrise, etc.)
- Observes and understands evolution of social media users (communication, community building, etc.)
- Researches social media evaluation tools and integrates Women’s Health social media plan and practice
- Creates presentation for staff/board using discovered materials
Monitors related online conversations
- Regularly “listens” online via RSS feed, Google Analytics, FB and Twitter
- Logs meaningful trends and conversations
- Participates in the Social Media Team quarterly analysis of compiled information
Creates social media messaging/content to garner community awareness
- Ensures relevance and consistency of messaging among all modes of media used
- Appropriately participates in two-way communication with on-line supporters
- Designs and facilitates one online fundraising project (possibly in conjunction with our youth outreach volunteers on the Crowdrise forum)
Additional Responsibilities
- Gains a holistic understanding of Women’s Health mission, values and services
- Acts as a representative of Women’s Health while promoting social media and events
- Attends marketing/social media team meetings as scheduled
- Participates in weekly check-ins with supervisor
- Co-creates weekly work plan with supervisor and marketing/social media teams, when appropriate
Qualifications
- Must support and have a comprehensive understanding of reproductive justice
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Experience, understanding and developed skills in Facebook, Twitter and You Tube
- Comprehensive computer skills including Microsoft Excel
- Comfortable and proficient in tracking and analyzing data
- Sense of humor
