Other Ways to Give

There are a variety of ways you can make a difference for the thousands of patients we serve each year. You can make a one-time or recurring donation today. Alternatively, you can give using the following options:

Peer to Peer Campaigns

Your investment in our work goes even further when you get your friends and family involved. Ask them to make a donation in your honor in lieu of birthday gifts or holiday presents and maximize your impact! You can raise money for Women’s Health any time of the year through online fundraising platforms, like ColoradoGives.org or Facebook’s fundraising tool.

Maximize Your Gift with Workplace Match

How can your gift to Women’s Health magically multiply? When your employer sponsors a matching gift program! Your company’s matching gift program could double, or even triple, the impact of your gift.

How do I know if my company has a matching gift policy?

Generally, the best way to find out if your company matches charitable contributions is to ask your Human Resources department. After you find out the specific guidelines for your organization, you can fill out their form and send it to Women’s Health along with your contribution. When we receive the form, we will complete our part and send it back to your company. Then, we receive the matching gift and you receive a copy of the acknowledgment, so you know that your gift made an even bigger impact!

Contributions and Matching Gift Forms can be mailed to:

That’s it!

Give Stocks or Mutual Funds

With a gift of stock to a tax-exempt charity such as Boulder Valley Women’s Health Center, you can take a charitable deduction for the full value of the stock (in most cases), while avoiding paying tax on the gains. Since Women’s Health is tax exempt, we can sell the stock without being subject to tax on the gain. It is a win-win for you and for us! Shares can be transferred electronically for a safe and easy donation. Stock can be transferred electronically to our broker at Edward Jones. Check with your advisor if this is the right option for you.

Redirecting your Required Minimum Distribution

Yet another very effective way to donate is to redirect your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) from retirement accounts directly to Women’s Health. A person must start taking RMDs beginning April 1st after they turn 70½ or the IRS imposes steep penalties. RMDs are taxable to the individual as ordinary income. The tax rules currently allow a person to directly donate the distribution to charities, such as Women’s Health, and avoid paying ordinary income taxes on the income from the RMD, rather than taking the distribution, paying the tax, and then donating after tax dollars. It can be very impactful in reducing income, which can be helpful for other purposes, such as determining Medicare premiums, as well as itemized deductions, which have limits based on Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) and phaseouts.

Donate a Car

Do you have a car that you want to get rid of? Women’s Health has a great partnership with Vehicles for Charity. All you need is a clear title in your name and Vehicles for Charity will make it easy to donate your old car to Women’s Health with no cost to you. The car is sold at an auction, the proceeds go to Women’s Health, and a tax deduction goes to you! To learn more about this option, visit the Vehicles for Charity website or call them at 1-866-628-CARS. When they ask you which charity you would like to support, select Boulder Valley Women’s Health Center.

Thank you again for your interest in supporting the more than 4,000 patients served by Women’s Health each year! If you have any questions or need assistance, contact our Development team at 303-440-9320, ext. 111.
